CUCUMBERS

CUCUMBERS
Cucumbers are green and shaped like a tube. They are members of the melon family. The outside skin of the cucumber is called the flesh and the inside yummy part of the cucumber is called the flesh. The center of the flesh is filled with seeds that are safe to eat. There are about 50 different kinds of cucumbers; some with smooth skins and others have bumpy skin. Smooth-skinned cucumbers are usually dark green and the bumpy-skinned cucumbers are light green and greenish-yellow. Cucumbers are 96% water and are used in salads, on sandwiches, by themselves, or are used to make pickles, dill pickles, sweet pickles, or spicy pickles. See if you can find where these are in the Grape Roots garden.
